Last beneficiary of 2nd Open Call

Mr Georgios Fyttis received a subsidy from the LIFE Cyclamen Project to participate in the 42nd International Congress of the Mediterranean Science Commission (CIESM). The Congress was held in Cascais, Portugal between the 7th and 11th of October 2019.

 

The 42nd CIESM Congress had a lot of participants from Europe and included 75 different sessions/debates moderated by leading scientists of the field. The subjects on which they focused were: ocean/atmosphere dynamics, geosciences, deep-sea, marine biodiversity, exploration technologies, invasive species, trophic interactions, interactions with fisheries, evolution of Law of the Sea, blue economy, persistent contaminants, estuaries and deltas, and many others.

 

During the Congress, Mr Fyttis presented the preliminary results of his research regarding zooplankton ecology in the coastal waters of Cyprus. He also promoted LIFE EUROTURTLES project through dissemination material that was produced during the project and discussed with participants with similar interests the possibility for new collaborations and implementation of other projects under the LIFE Programme.

 

Mr Georgios Fyttis is the fifth and last beneficiary of LIFE Cyclamen’s 2nd Open Call, which was inviting interested parties to request a subsidy for participating in an EU event (conference, workshop, seminar, networking event, etc.) about the environment and climate change.

 

The 42nd International Congress of the Mediterranean Science Commission (CIESM)
