The LIFE Cyclamen Team organised an Info Day titled: “LIFE Programme and Local Authorities”, on Thursday November 21st, 2019. The Info Day took place at the Ministry of Finances in Nicosia (Multipurpose Hall – Ground Floor).
The purpose of this Info Day was to introduce Local Authorities to this funding instrument, which they can benefit of in future Calls for Proposals.
Participants had the opportunity to learn about the basic characteristics of the LIFE Programme, such as priority areas, rules for proposal submission and co-funding percentages.
In addition, our experts gave plenty of examples of LIFE Projects where Local Authorities participated, either as the coordinating beneficiary or as a partner. The examples of LIFE Projects were related to the priority areas of: Environment & Resource Efficiency, Nature & Biodiversity and Climate Action.
All participants, coming from Local Authorities from all over Cyprus, found this Info Day very interesting and useful, as it gave them the opportunity to raise and discuss issues that trouble them. Through this discussion it became evident that some issues are common among Local Authorities and could possibly lead to future LIFE Projects. Participants also requested one-to-one meetings with members of our Team and this was arranged on the spot.
All our Team will be at the disposal of all Cypriot Local Authorities for future meetings and we will gladly offer our consulting services whenever they are requested.
